Civil, Religious (Catholic) and Symbolic ceremonies
Arranging a wedding is always exciting an even more so if you are planning to celebrate abroad! To help you arrange your special day in the easiest way we can offer you a basic package to start off and a location that will add its own special touch to your dream day! We understand that everybody has different needs so we will provide personalised attention and offer a number of services that you can add to your wedding in order to suite your requirements.
Civil Weddings
A civil marriage has no religious affiliation and the marriage ceremony is usually performed by the local mayor or by a functionary and it is performed in Italian (we will arrange for an interpreter to be on site).
In a civil ceremony the bride and groom will declare that there is no lawful impediment for their marriage and will sign the register before two witnesses. The actual vows spoken in this type of ceremony are fairly brief compared to a religious ceremony. The ceremony can be however personalized with non religious readings and music. There are no residency requirements to get married in Italy and the civil service gives you a fully legal marriage certificate. If you decide to perform a civil ceremony in Italy, in order for it to be arranged and be legally recognized in your own country, you will need to do some paperwork. The paperwork required depends on the nationality of the bride and the groom and ideally should be started a few months before your departure for Italy. We will provide you with the necessary information regarding the paperwork required according to your nationality and give you assistance throughout the entire procedure by leasing with the appropriate Embassies and governmental bodies.

The above package is available for weddings performed in Sorrento Monday to Friday morning or Tuesday/Thursday afternoon. Supplement to be paid for weddings performed on Saturdays or Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Civil weddings can also be arranged in the charming towns of Positano and Amalfi and we will be delighted to show you our proposals for these other venues too.
Catholic Weddings
From the point of the Catholic Church, for a marriage to be a sacrament, both the bride and the groom must be baptized, able to marry and freely consent to the marriage.
A Roman Catholic wedding is legally binding and recognised by the Italian authorities because they contain a civil element within the service. Some paperwork/documents will be required in order to perform a Catholic wedding and will all (except the civil wedding certificate if applicable) have to be sealed or stamped by the Bishop’s Parish office of the area you reside in. Most of the documents requested should not be done more than 3 month in advance or they will expire. The certificates for the sacraments received are the only exception as these are issued when you have received the sacraments.

Catholic weddings can also be arranged in the town of Amalfi and we will be delighted to show you our proposals for this alternative option.
Currently it is not possible to perform Catholic weddings for non residents in Sorrento. Catholic ceremonies can be organized either in Positano or Amalfi two charming towns located along the Amalfi Coastline. Of course in the same location Civil and Symbolic ceremonies can also be performed. We will assist you by e-mail and phone from the day you contact us right through to your big day and were possible we will be pleased to meet you personally. Once you are in Italy there will be a wedding coordinator in resort who will meet you and go through the final details to make sure everything is they way you want for your special day.
